Experienced delivery skippers

Our skippers hold recognised commercial qualifications and have spent decades delivering vessels offshore.

Sail and motor

From family cruisers to large motor yachts, we crew for the vessel in front of us.

Fully insured passages

Deliveries are covered by appropriate delivery and liability insurance.

Updates from the passage

You will know where your yacht is and how she is doing, without having to chase us.

Our approach

Your yacht deserves better than a stranger and a weather window.

BAY was founded by two people who had spent their working lives around other companies’ deliveries and knew the job could be run better.

That means careful passage planning, crew who are paid and looked after, and a named human answering the phone. We take responsibility for the decisions, keep you informed and treat every yacht as somebody’s prized possession.

All FAQs
How is a yacht delivery quotation calculated?

We consider the route, vessel, likely passage time, crew requirement, season, travel and any preparation needed. You receive a clear quotation before committing, with assumptions explained rather than hidden in small print.

What happens if the weather delays the passage?

The skipper makes the final call on safe departure and routing. We keep you informed, explain the forecast and agree the sensible next step. A calendar never takes priority over the vessel, crew or conditions.

Is my yacht insured during delivery?

The vessel must have suitable insurance in place and the insurer may need to approve the delivery skipper. We provide the skipper details and documents needed for that conversation. BAY also maintains appropriate business cover.

Can I join the delivery?

Often, yes. We will discuss your experience, the route, available berths and insurance position. Some owners join to gain miles or learn their yacht, while others prefer a complete berth-to-berth service.

How many crew will be aboard?

That depends on the yacht, route and watch pattern. We crew for safe, sustainable passage-making rather than applying one number to every job. Your quotation will set out the proposed arrangement.

What happens at handover?

We walk through the yacht, note condition and inventory, collect the relevant documents and agree contacts. At destination we complete a handover, report notable defects or observations, and return keys and paperwork as agreed.
